HERE AT A.LONDON WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON OUR ABILITY TO DELIVER LUXURY TAILOR-MADE SHOW HOMES BY MAXIMISING YOUR PROPERTY'S DESIRABILITY AND MINIMISING THE TIME IT IS ON THE MARKET FOR.
DISCOVER THE STORY BEHIND OUR LATEST PROJECT, EATON PARK…
Eaton Park is a grand, £6 million development by the Halebourne Group, situated on a prestigious private estate in the heart of Cobham, Surrey and home to our newest private client scheme.
Our key focus throughout this project was to portray the vibrant personalities of the homeowners whilst providing a sense of escapism and tranquillity through our unique designs. We injected a mixture of trends, from oriental to contemporary, to create a playful and eclectic environment within the home. We showcased our client's love for the outdoors through the powerful plant-life and striking colour palettes, whilst bespoke furniture, distinctive accessories and commissioned artwork ensured the scheme that was tailored specifically for the client and their needs.

Flowers really are powerful. Inspired by our recent visit to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, our in-house Stylist, Steph shares how she uses bold blooms to compliment and elevate our A.LONDON Dress-to-Sell schemes. Steph reveals her top tips on how to bring the outdoors in, instantly enhancing an interior space with a well chosen and perfectly styled floral arrangement.
Where do you find your inspiration?
My favourite place to source flowers is New Covent Garden Flower Market, it’s the best place for quality and variety, but before heading to the flower market, I always have a clear vision of the look i’m trying to create for each scheme. I am inspired by everything around me. I love looking through magazines, Pinterest and Instagram, but I’m often inspired by the overall colour palette and location of the scheme. As well as this, visiting events like the RHS Chelsea Flower Show allows me to pick up on the latest trends and incorporate them into our schemes (you may spot some Lupins from us this year!).
What are your favourite flowers for summer?
Hydrangeas are a summer classic, their architectural shape makes a bold impact and they photograph extremely well. However, I also love peonies as they have the most beautiful scent as well as having that gentle feminine touch.
What are you 3 top tips for enhancing a scheme through styling with flowers?
1. Less is More
Less is always more, so if in doubt keep it simple. Use a generous bunch of a single type of flower to create the perfect statement.
2. Matchy Matchy
The right flowers can truly bring together a scheme by softening the look and adding just the right pop of colour, so it’s important to match the flowers and styling to the mood of the space.
3. Practice and Have Fun With it!
Styling is all about making the usual look unusual, drawing the onlooker in and creating a story. To develop your stylist’s eye, play around with styling a floral display when next laying your table for dinner with friends.

This year the Royal Academy celebrates 250 years of it’s spectacular annual Summer Exhibition. To mark the occasion, this year’s show, coordinated by one of Britain’s most celebrated artists, the Turner-Prize winning Grayson Perry RA, spreads beyond the traditional first floor galleries, spilling out into the newly opened cultural campus and on to the surrounding streets with 250 flags designed by Perry and his fellow Royal Academicians Joe Tilson, Cornelia Parker and Rose Wylie lining Bond Street, Piccadilly and Regent Street.
The largest and longest running open-submission exhibition in the world, the RA displays 1,351 artworks by the great, the good and the unknown. The emerging and established hang side by side with a variety of work in all medias, including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, architecture and film. Over 20,000 submissions have been carefully whittled down by Perry and his team to create the biggest, brightest and most colourful show in the academy’s 250 year history.
The exhibition is an endless source of inspiration, a masterclass in curation and a true celebration of Britain's art scene. We were particularly inspired by the innovative way in which the pieces were grouped and displayed, and how the space was curated, with each room appearing to tell a different story. Perry has put together what feels like a very personal collection of objects, something we strive for in all of our projects.

Ahead of the V&A’s ‘Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up’ exhibition opening and following the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, we immersed ourselves into the late artist’s vibrant life through ‘Frida’s Parlour’, an interactive installation celebrating the Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo as part of ‘Belgravia in Bloom’. Kahlo was a self-portrait artist who created bold, vibrant paintings inspired by nature and general artefacts of Mexico as a reflection of her culture and beliefs.
As we cross into the summer season, with more focus on flower styling than ever, the event couldn’t be more fitting with its impressive floral displays and paper flower making workshop with artist Lora Avedian. As an accessory remaining synonymous with Kahlo and her work, the event also held a flower headdress workshop with Judith Blacklock, founder of the Judith Blacklock Flower School.
Here at A.LONDON we strive for luxury and sophistication through our interiors while also keeping our designs contemporary with fragments of bold colours and key trends. We found ourselves particularly inspired by the room splashed with pops of cobalt blue and raspberry reds, evident reflections of Kahlo’s flamboyant Mexico City home, 'La Casa Azul' and bold statements which we can relate with in our own schemes.
'Frida's Parlour' was on from 19th May to 16th June 2018 at 141 Ebury Street.
